Cho Oyu

Cho Oyu is one of the 8 peaks of the Himalayas with an altitude of 8,188 m, defining the border between Nepal and Tibet.
Cho Oyu, at 8,188 metres high, is the sixth tallest tower on Earth and is one of the most imposing peaks in the Himalayas. The mountain defines the border between Nepal and Tibet, and its name in Tibetan, meaning "Goddess of Turquoise," refers to its striking appearance, especially when illuminated by the sun's rays.

The first to summit Cho Oyu were Austrians Herbert Tihi and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama in 1954. The mountain is known for its relatively accessible route, which makes it a favorite destination for climbers who want to conquer one of the highest peaks on the planet.

Although the route is easier compared to other Himalayan peaks, climbing Cho Oyu remains a challenge due to the harsh conditions at this altitude. Dealing with the intense cold, low oxygen pressure and extreme weather conditions requires excellent preparation and endurance.

For those who make it to the top, Cho Oyu offers an awe-inspiring experience with endless views of the Himalayan mountain landscape, a true conquest of altitude and nature.
