Jannu

Jannu is a high mountain that stands out above the Ghunsa valley, visible during a drive to Amjilosa.
In the heart of the Himalayas, there is a huge giant that challenges you to face the ultimate climbing challenge. This giant is known as the seventh highest mountain ape in the world, with an altitude of 7,710 metres. The first to conquer its summit were Russian climbers in 1962, making it one of the most difficult and dangerous mountain monkeys to climb.

The challenges faced by climbers are many and varied. From steep slopes and icy snowfields, to dangerous glaciers and unpredictable weather conditions, every step to the summit is a battle for survival. Despite the difficulties, however, climbers from all over the world continue to visit this giant, trying to conquer its summit.

But this giant is not just for climbers. It's also an important cultural landmark for local residents. According to local tradition, the gigas is a sacred mountain, a divine protector that offers protection and blessings to the people. The locals honour the giant with ceremonies and prayers, while the more adventurous ones are the most popular.
